About
A Mission Remembered Is a Life Enriched
Every missionary experience leaves a lasting imprint — one that continues to shape faith, perspective, and purpose long after returning home. Pondering Plumerias was created to help missionaries remember those times of sacred study for future reflection.
What began as a personal project after missionary service for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has grown into a heartfelt effort to help others find peace and spiritual connection through focused journaling and stress-relieving coloring.
The inspiration for the journals came from a notebook provided by leaders to their missionaries in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission (2012) focused primarily on recording their progress through Preach My Gospel, Standard Works, Missionary Reference Library, and Testimonies. Our aesthetic journals take a step further by also having sections for:
-
Personal Mission information
-
Answer prompts, questions, and surveys poised by Preach My Gospel
-
Ponderizing* proclamations
-
‘Learn More About’ key terms
-
Conference notes
Each journal is created with the intent to focus a missionary’s study of Preach My Gospel and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, while the coloring books serve as a missionary-appropriate stress-relief tool.
The coloring books were created as a missionary-themed outlet for those seeking a gentle, uplifting way to care for their mental and spiritual health. Through simple, mindful activities like coloring, reflecting, and reading inspired words, each page offers a small moment of peace — something minor but meaningful, helping to calm the mind and refocus the heart on Christ.
These books are designed to remind the missionary that healing, growth, and discipleship often happen quietly — one color, one thought, and one prayer at a time.

About the Founder
Hi! I’m Ronda Haehnel, the creator of Pondering Plumerias.

As a missionary in the Marshall Islands Majuro Mission and the Hawaii Honolulu Mission, I discovered how simple acts — like journaling, puzzles, and coloring — could bring peace and help me stay spiritually grounded through mental health struggles.
Even years after my mission experience, my mind kept coming back to the study tool my mission leaders provided. I felt inspired to create these resources designed to bless the lives of others who seek not only to support their missionary studies, but also to continue to build light, strength, and balance in their daily discipleship beyond their mission.

A Note from the Creator
Pondering Plumerias and its products are independent creations and are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All opinions, designs, and materials reflect personal inspiration and a desire to uplift others in faith and creativity.
While no artificial intelligence (AI) was used in the writing, layout, or creation of the journals themselves, some artwork within the coloring books was developed with the assistance of AI technology and then refined by hand to ensure quality, style, and spiritual intent.
